Invitation
Dear colleagues, professionals, friends,
The PinS Organizing Committee warmly invites you,
experimental plant biologists, physiologists, molecular biologists,
agronomists, life in space experts, and Lunar/Martian greenhouses
specialists to PLANTS IN SPACE 2026 conference.
The scope of the conference is to provide a meeting point of experts
from a variety of scientific fields related to biology in space with a
special emphasis given to plants. The conference intent is to bring
together plant space biologists from Europe and around the world to
provide a platform for presentation of their results, expertise and
knowledge from on-Earth experiments, orbital plant cultivations, and
plans for space agriculture. The conference should promote share
cutting-edge research and foster collaboration between the teams working
in these directions.
This year’s conference has a motto Agressi sunt Mare Tenebrarum quid
in eo esset exploraturi (E.A. Poe, Eleanora) in order to emphasize
the necessity of new discoveries and knowledge to optimize a highly
important role plants will have in future space missions. The conference
will be dedicated to showcasing ground-breaking plant biology expertise
in the field of space research from around the World. The organizers
believe it will provide a special opportunity to elevate the visibility
of plants and biotechnologies considered for future Lunar/Martian
greenhouses

conference day as a pdf file.
Oral presentations: 15 min.
Video files (oral presentations from participants outside Europe,
i.e. from disadvantaged ‘Earth time zones) are acceptable.
Participation of junior scientists and students with an interest in plants in space is warmly encouraged.
